Waar gaat Edge of the World over?
De negentiende eeuw. Nadat hij ernstig gewond raakt tijdens zijn dienstplicht wordt James Brooke naar Engeland teruggebracht. Hij besluit een boot te kopen en in het jaar 1838 naar het eiland Borneo te varen. De ontdekkingsreiziger wordt verliefd op de paradijselijke plek en helpt de inheemse bevolking in hun strijd tegen piraten en andere vijanden. Uiteindelijk wordt hij tot koning van Sarawak gekroond.
