Slechts 39 jaar na een leven vol pech overlijdt Ryoma Takebayashi in zijn slaap! Drie goddelijke wezens hebben medelijden met hem en tonen medeleven door hem als jonge jongen te reïncarneren in een magische, nieuwe wereld. Nu besteedt hij zijn tijd aan het onderzoeken en verzorgen van slijm in het bos.
