青森から舞妓をめざして京都にやってきたキヨとすみれ。ところが、ひょんなことからキヨは屋形(やかた)のまかないさんに。花街(かがい)を舞台に、舞妓たちの毎日の食事を作るまかないさんとなったキヨ、舞妓として『百年にひとりの逸材』と将来を期待されるすみれ、そして一緒に共同生活を送る舞妓たちの日常が、おいしいごはんを通してほっこりと描かれます。
