Worum geht es in Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood?
Im Jahre 1931 herrscht Prinz Yoshinobu Tokugawa über ganz Japan. Überbleibsel der Meiji-Ära lassen sich zwar noch in der Stadt erkennen, doch der wissenschaftliche Fortschritt und die traditionelle japanische Kosmologie Onmyōdō verleihen allem einen Hauch der Moderne. Doch hinter all dem Glanz verbirgt sich Kuchinawa, eine Gruppe Andersdenkender, die ein Attentat auf den Prinzen und den Sturz des Regimes planen. Nue, eine geheime Sondereinheit der Regierung, erhält den Auftrag, diese Dissidenten auszuschalten. Teil dieser Organisation ist Sawa Yukimura, die in jungen Jahren ihre gesamte Familie an die Kuchinawa verlor und bittere Rache schwor.
